Incirlik Air Base (Turkish: İncirlik Hava Üssü) (ICAO: LTAG), an important air base in NATO's Southern Region, is located in İncirlik, 12 km east of Adana, Turkey's fifth largest city, and 56 km from the Mediterranean Sea. Its ICAO airport code is LTAG.

Incirlik is the 10th Air Wing (Ana Jet Üs or AJÜ) of the 2nd Air Force Command (Hava Kuvvet Komutanligi) of the Turkish Air Force (Türk Hava Kuvvetleri). Other wings of this command are located in Merzifon (LTAP), Malatya/Erhaç (LTAT) and Diyarbakır (LTCC).[2]

The airbase has a United States Air Force (USAF) staff of ca. 5,000, with several hundred British and Turkish personnel attached (-late 2002). The primary unit stationed here is the 39th Air Base Wing (39 ABW).

The airbase has one 3,050 m and an alternate 2,740 m runway, both sitting amidst 57 hardened aircraft shelters.

Adana (Turkish: Adana) (the ancient Antioch in Cilicia or Antioch on the Sarus)) is the capital of Adana Province in Turkey. According to the 2007 census Adana had 1,611,262 inhabitants. It is the fifth most populous city of Turkey (after Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir and Bursa).

For most Turkish people, the word 'Adana' associates with Kebab, şalgam, cotton, oranges, and very hot weather.

Adana is named among the 25 European Regions of the Future for 2006/2007 by Foreign Direct Investment Magazine. Chosen alongside Kocaeli for Turkey, Adana scored the most points for cost effectiveness against Kocaeli's points for infrastructure development, while Adana and Kocaeli tied on points for the categories of human resources and quality of life
